Dr. Rurainski was a pioneer in laboratory medicine who brought the industry to economic boom over the past decades. He was a noted philanthropist and devoted a significant portion of his fortune to cancer research and charitable causes. Always looking for values that gave his work meaning and content, he dealt with biological and medical questions for the protection of human health.
The Dr. Rurainski Stiftung supports outstanding research projects, researchers, and start-ups in the field of cancer research - especially in tumor biology including tumor genetics and tumor immunology.
Die Dr. Rurainski Stiftung hat sich bei ihrer Gründung zum Ziel gesetzt, die Krebssterblichkeit zu reduzieren. Ein wichtiges Anliegen dabei ist die Erforschung wirksamerer Therapien.
Der in der Satzung definierte Zweck der Stiftung ist die Förderung der Wissenschaft und Forschung auf dem Gebiet der Krebsentstehung, -vorsorge, -erkennung und Krebsbekämpfung, insbesondere, aber nicht nur, auf dem Gebiet der Diagnostik. Weiterer Zweck der Stiftung ist darüber hinaus die finanzielle Unterstützung von wegweisenden Forschungsvorhaben und Studien.
